{"id":1153,"date":"2010-04-26T11:16:18","date_gmt":"2010-04-26T16:16:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/snapshotchronicles.com\/roadtrip\/?p=1153"},"modified":"2010-04-26T11:18:26","modified_gmt":"2010-04-26T16:18:26","slug":"its-all-happening-at-the-zoo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/snapshotchronicles.com\/roadtrip\/2010\/04\/26\/its-all-happening-at-the-zoo\/","title":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s all happening at the zoo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve always loved the zoo, and this month, I visited two.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #f52605;\">Columbus Zoo<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During a business trip to Columbus, Ohio, I had a a full day to spare before my flight home due to<a href=\"https:\/\/snapshotchronicles.com\/2010\/04\/12\/today-show-segment-on-negativity-in-the-blogosphere\/\" target=\"_blank\"> last minute changes in my travel plans<\/a>. The good news, however, was that friend Christina McMenemy (<a href=\"http:\/\/amommystory.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">A Mommy Story<\/a>) was free that day and suggested we go to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.columbuszoo.org\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Columbus Zoo<\/a>. One zookeeper pointed out a little turtle &#8212; wild &#8212; that had moved into their pond, and when we said we hadn&#8217;t been able to spot the Snow Leopard, offered to walk back and point her out to us.<\/p>\n<p>The animals in the Stone Zoo are mostly American (North and South) native animals, with a couple of Himalayan species for good measure.
