Thank you for the history and feel of each of the conferences. I will be attending for the first time this year. It helps to understand how the conference - and those attending it - have evolved.

I grew up on the northshore of Massachusetts - live in CT now - so I will be training in as well. I will look for you among the many faces since you will be at a couple of the sessions that I plan to attend.

Susan .. thanks for the walk down BlogHer memory lane. That 1st conference was a huge ah ha moment for me .. it brought home that relationships made in the digital world are as real as any .. and that taking online offline is beyond awesome! Maybe it's time to go back to BlogHer ;-)

Esther -- I was speaking with Ciaran @momfluential today and she likened it to college. I think that's a very apt analogy. A new freshman class comes in every year hungry for the learning at the sessions, and after a year or two, graduates. Then they come for the reunion -- the parties. And maybe to audit a few classes.

Your class may be through with the heavy duty education, but there's a whole new group that wants it.

As for the off-sites, luckily, it's New York, and there are plenty of transportation options if you need to go off-site.

So fun to read through the history here! And I agree with you about BlogHer's decision to take over all the space in the hotel itself - it's a good move, even if it means that there will be a chunk of the population that will be struggling to get around to off-site events.

One thing that's already standing out to me that's different about this year - how few people in my circle seem interested in attending the sessions. Nearly everyone I've spoken to says they're just planning on hanging out and attending parties + events rather than worry about attending panels. Last year there were certainly many folks hanging around, but my hunch is there's going to be a lot more of that this year.
